RJ_130x172RJ Stillwell
CEO & Founder

RJ entered the health insurance industry 14 years ago after a 15-year career in the music industry that encompassed performance (both touring and as a studio musician), production, artist management and music publishing, where he established co-publishing agreements with eight #1 songwriters, including two Grammy Award winners. In 1995, RJ began working with national small business associations, leveraging buying power to provide quality, affordable health insurance options to their predominantly self-employed memberships, which included professionals in the music industry. In 2006 RJ architected a health insurance program initially for the Country Music Association called CMA Sound Healthcare, a first for the music industry. In 2008, RJ expanded Sound Healthcare to other major music organizations, building a unique insurance advocacy model for the greater good of the music industry at large.

In 2014, Sound Healthcare formed a partnership with New York Life, becoming Sound Healthcare and Financial in the process, adding comprehensive retirement planning to the list of services offered to its distinguished clientele, and earning the distinction as the first Nashville partner in New York Life’s 169 year history. Today, Sound Healthcare and Financial serves 16 major associations and organizations across the nation.

RJ serves on the Board of Directors of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee and is a member of  CMA, ACM, AMA, and The Recording Academy.
